Despite their incredible age (nearly five thousand years!), the Egyptian pyramids have been remarkably well-preserved. Until the late 19th century, the Pyramids of Giza were the tallest structures in the world, a record held until the Eiffel Tower was built in France. Moreover, they are the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World to have survived intact to this day. This title belongs specifically to the Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza. Originally standing at 150 meters tall, with each side of the base measuring 230 meters, the pyramid weighs over six million tons! Just imagine the extraordinary effort and resources required to construct it. With this realization, it’s easy to see why the Egyptian pyramids were the first among the Seven Wonders of the World.
Excursion program:
Departure from Sharm El Sheikh:
At 12:30 AM, our comfortable air-conditioned bus will pick you up. Along the way, a short stop is planned for snacks (coffee, tea) so you can rest and recharge before your exciting day ahead.
Arrival in Cairo:
Around 08:30 AM, we arrive in the capital of Egypt.
We begin our tour with a pleasant ride on a traditional boat along the Nile — the legendary longest river in the world. This is a great opportunity to see the city from the water, enjoy the fresh air, and take beautiful photos against the backdrop of the great river. The ride is calm, relaxing, and sets a wonderful mood for the entire day.
Boat ride price:
• Adult — $10
• Child — $5
Grand Egyptian Museum:
After the Nile boat ride, we head to the new Giza museum — the Grand Egyptian Museum.
This is the largest and most modern museum of Ancient Egypt, built over more than twenty years and located right at the foot of the pyramids.
Inside, you will find thousands of artifacts, including the complete collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures.
Every part of the exhibition is designed using modern technology, lighting, and spacious layout to showcase the greatness of the pharaohs as impressively and beautifully as possible.
Huge halls, statues, household items, jewelry, and ritual objects allow you to feel the atmosphere of ancient civilization like never before. The museum is bright, spacious, and extremely comfortable for visitors, and the colossal statue of Ramses II greeting guests at the entrance leaves an unforgettable impression.
More than 100,000 artifacts are displayed here — the world’s largest collection of Ancient Egypt — a place worth seeing at least once in a lifetime.
Visit to the Papyrus and Fragrance Oils Factory:
Next, we head to a local factory where you will see how papyrus, oils, and fragrances — so important in ancient Egyptian culture — are produced.
You will not only observe the process but also have the chance to purchase souvenirs at reasonable prices.
Lunch at the Restaurant:
To regain energy, you will enjoy a buffet lunch with dishes of Egyptian and international cuisine.
Visit to the Pyramids of Giza
After lunch, you will visit the Pyramids. The Great Pyramids of Giza served as tombs for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure over 4,500 years ago. You’ll also see the majestic Sphinx, a mysterious sculpture with the body of a lion and the face of a man, which guards the pyramids and stands as a symbol of Egypt. Legends and mysteries surrounding this ancient monument will be shared with you.
The tour ends at 6:00 pm, and you will return to Sharm El Sheikh around 2:00 am. After an active trip to Cairo, we invite you to relax in the Aladino SPA Hammam for a rejuvenating experience.
